For those who can still remember, last February 6, 2012, an earthquake hit some parts of the Philippines. That include Cebu and Negros. In Cebu, the 6.8 magnitude earthquake made all buildings to shook. But aftershocks were still felt. In fact, DepEd announced immediately to cancel all class from Elementary and High School. Those people who were working at that time were forced to go home early. Just for an example, all employees from Gaisano, Minglanilla, Cebu directly went home right after the quake to check if their families were safe. Some employers didn't allow their employees to go to work the day after for safety.
During the quake, there were stupid individuals created a rumor of tsunami alert that cause everyone especially in downtown area to panic. Almost everyone were racing to reach the top of the mountains. The fear of the residents of Cebu just went up when the PhiVolcs raise the tsunami alert to #2. But PhiVolcs said that they just did that to encourage those who were residing near the port area.
Negros where the 6.9 magnitude hits, suffers more. though there's no tsunami alert, almost all the infrastructures were collapsed and some were damaged. Streets did escape the trembling of the earth. Some streets were now unable to be passed by for it has too0 much damage. Some bridges were also collapse during the quake.
After the quake, a child was reported to be dead when a collapsed wall drop on the child. Since then, the numbers of those who died were still rising. Until now, rescue units were still digging the soil to recover dead bodies.
