4 Things You Might Not Have Known About Your Cell Phone
For all the folks with cell phones. (This should be printed and kept in your car, purse, and wallet. Good information to have with you.)
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:
- Emergency
- The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
- Hidden Battery Power
- Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell phone next time.
- How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
- To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following Digits on your phone: *#06# . A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.
- If your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
- Free Directory Service for Cells
- Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial: (800) FREE411 or (800) 373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now. This is sponsored by McDonalds.

YAHOO! "UPDATES" SAYS GOODBYE
Yahoo! officially announced last October 20, 2011 that they will be removing the Updates tab on the Yahoo! mail starting November 18, 2011. With this, you can no longer share your status or check for the updates of your contacts. However, you can still be able to receive notifications from facebook and use the quick reply to send your comments or your messages.
But this not totally removing the updates tab from Yahoo!. You can still use the Updates tab with the use of Yahoo! messenger. After loging in to your Yahoo! messenger, just choose to display your status message and view the messages of your friends who are online.
With the notifications from Yahoo!, they ask for an apology for this inconvenience. But, yet, they didn't provide any reasons why they are removing the Updates tab from Yahoo! mail.

NO WORK - NO CLASS ON NOVEMBER 7, 2011: HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE PHILIPPINES
via wikipedia |
Eid Ul Adha means "Festival of Sacrifice". It is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Isma'il) as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a ram to sacrifice instead. The meat is divided into three parts. The family retains one third of the share; another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbors; and the other third is given to the poor and needy.
Below is the copy of the declaration of the President.
HOW AND WHO KILLED GADDAFI
Muammar Qaddafi was killed by the fighters of the new regime yesterday, Thursday, October 20, 2011 in his hometown Sirte, Libya after he was cornered in a sewage pipe while waving his golden gun.
“Gadhafi was in a jeep when rebels opened fire on it. He got out and tried to flee, taking shelter in a sewage pipe. NTC fighters opened fire again and he came out carrying a Kalashnikov (assault rifle) in one hand and a pistol in the other.Gadhafi looked left and right and asked what was happening. Rebels opened fire again, wounding his leg and shoulder. He died after that,” NTC field commander, Mohammed Leith, told AFP.
But according to interim premier Mahmud Jibril, Gaddafi was caught in a crossfire between his supporters and new regime fighters and got hit in his head, after he was captured. “When he was found, he was in good health, carrying a gun,” Jibril told a press conference in Tripoli. After Gaddafi was caught, he was transfered from the sewage pipe to a pick-up truck. “When the vehicle started moving, it was caught in crossfire between Gadhafi fighters and the revolutionaries, and he was shot in the head. He was alive up to last moment until he arrived at hospital in the town of Misrata.” Jibril added.
But a videotape aired on Arab satellite channels showed a different statement compared from Leith and Jibril's. On that aired videotape, Gaddafi is still alive and walking but handled by the Libya's new regime fighters roughly after he was captured. Gaddafi was bloodied in the head, face and shoulders and said to be about to cry out.
Aside from Gaddafi, Leith said that Mutassim, one of Gaddafi's son, was also killed in Sirte. He was found by the NTC fighters dead with the ex-defense minister Abu Bakr Yunis Jabar and put them in an ambulance to be brought to Misrata.
