Microsoft Unveils a New Appearance - New Logo

After 25 years in the market, Microsoft felt that now is the right time to change. That's what they said when they officially announced their new logo. This new logo of Microsoft is carrying two components. First is the "Logo Type" and second is the "Symbol". They said that they choose this logo of squares of colors for the intention of expressing the diverse portfolio of products of the company.
It’s been 25 years since we’ve updated the Microsoft logo and now is the perfect time for a change. This is an incredibly exciting year for Microsoft as we prepare to release new versions of nearly all of our products. From Windows 8 to Windows Phone 8 to Xbox services to the next version of Office, you will see a common look and feel across these products providing a familiar and seamless experience on PCs, phones, tablets and TVs. This wave of new releases is not only a reimagining of our most popular products, but also represents a new era for Microsoft, so our logo should evolve to visually accentuate this new beginning.
My Own Opinion

We all knew that a logo is also important to an organization or to a company. But with this new announced logo of Microsoft, many people said that Microsoft did a very big mistake. But for me, it doesn't matter. No matter how frequent they change their logo, as long as they make their products with more quality that can satisfy us as their customers, that what matters the most.  What does a very good looking logo can do if their products cannot even satisfy their customer's satisfaction?

For me, I'll be looking forward to see if Microsoft can at least maintain or improve more of the quality of their products with or without a new logo.

TOP 20 RICHEST MEN ON EARTH

English: Cropped picture of Carlos Slim, a Mex...Image via WikipediaDo you think Bill Gates still the richest man on earth? the is a big NO. For according to Forbes, he is now the second richest man on in the world. Who's in the top spot? It's Carlos Slim Helu. Well, this is the first time I've heard about him. But maybe some of you already knows about him.

Anyway, Carlos Slim Helu  is the chairman and chief executive of telecommunications companies Telmex and América Móvil and has extensive holdings in other Mexican companies through his conglomerate, Grupo Carso SAB, as well as business interests elsewhere in the world. América Móvil, which in 2010 was Latin America’s largest mobile-phone carrier, accounted for around US$49 billion of Slim's wealth by the end of 2010. His corporate holdings as of September 2011 have been estimated at US$63.3 billion.

To make things clear, let us compare Slim and Gates. Slim is having a net worth of $74 Billion while Gates is having $56 Billion. So maybe that explains why Bill gates got only the second spot.

ANTI-POWERPOINT PARTY IN SWITZERLAND: BAN POWERPOINT

Matthias Poehm and the Anti-PowerPoint Party are gathering 100, 000 signatures through the whole country of Switzerland in order to ban the PowerPoint Presentation, published by Microsoft.

Poehm is a Public-Speaking Trainer in Switzerland. And now, he is founding the APPP or Anti-PowerPoint Party. The main goal of APPP is to ban the PowerPoint Presentation in the country and to atleast "decrease the numbers of boring presentations in the whole world".

Poehm said that for over 14 years of being a public speaking trainer, he had noticed that the use of Flip-Chart is better than PowerPoint in 95-100 cases. He also added that it's not a wishful thinking on his part but base on his experience.

APPP want to ban the PowerPoint because base on their calculation, the hourly wages of those who were attending alone results in suffering an annual economic damage of 350 billion Euros or $500 billion for the whole world.
